For we walk by faith, not by sight.
2 Corinthians 5:7Our Lady of the Lake’s Faith Formation programs are offered to support the parents as the primary educators of their children. The role of the primary educator is so vital to the mission of Jesus Christ, that the Church calls the family, “The Domestic Church.”
Our Lady of the Lake provides the opportunity for children to experience and grow in their knowledge of the Catholic faith, prepare for and celebrate the Sacraments, and deepen their relationship with Jesus through prayer and liturgy. We assist them in becoming disciples of Jesus and to become a part of a vibrant, active Catholic community.
It is our hope that parents and the parish share a common goal: that our children will become people who give witness to their Catholic faith. Children see the example of faith in action by following the model of lived faith in the family. Full and active participation in parish life through regular attendance at Mass, sacramental life, and service to the community demonstrates a life centered around the teachings of Jesus.
Our basic objectives are:
We believe that through the cooperative effort of parents, catechists, our parish family, and students, our children will grow in their love for God and knowledge of their Catholic faith. They will develop and foster their God-given gifts and talents and live to be Jesus’ disciples.
All participants in our program must be registered in our parish. For students who are entering first grade or who are new to the parish, a copy of the Baptismal certificate is required in addition to the registration form.
Registration fees for the 2024-25 can be found on the registration form and discounts are applied if you register before June 1st or August 1st. You may submit one check to cover all registration fees for grades 1-9.
All completed registration information may be mailed or dropped off at the Our Lady of the Lake Pastoral Center, 22 Lakeside Avenue, Verona NJ 07044.
There is a two-year sacramental preparation for First Reconciliation, First Communion and Confirmation. Children will receive the sacraments after completing two consecutive years in the program.

Volunteers must complete the Safe Environment protocols and have a Background check completed.
